Micro Pigmentation Aftercare Advice

You will go through 3 healing phases (1) Heal (2) Peeling (3) Fade to implanted colour.
- Avoid touching or soaking treated area for the first 24 hours.
- Avoid using make up, the gym, sauna, steam room, pool, sun beds, sun exposure, for at least 7 to 10 days.
- Do not pick or pull at treated area as it will result in loss of pigment.
- You may notice some whitening around the area. This is normal and will subside.
- If you find any lymphatic fluid or blood weeping from treated area you should gently clean the area using saline or cooled boiled water with gauze or cotton pad, blotting gently to remove all the moisture.
Care of Eyebrows
With clean hands and cotton bud, apply a fine layer of bepathen to dried treated area at least 3 to 4 times a day for the first 3 days. Then continue to keep moisturised and protected with a petroleum based product. I find palmers cocoa butter `tub form’ ideal as it stays moist and feels soothing. Moisturising the area for up to 4 weeks
For the life of your cosmetic art we recommend using a little sun block SPF30 Indefinitely! Of all the cosmetic treatments the brows appear to suffer the most from The sun, environment & sun beds. Keeping them protected will prolong the life of the pigment.
Care of Eyeliner
You may carefully cleanse around the eyelids in the morning after treatment by splashing warm water on the eyes. Gently dab the eyelids following cleansing with moist cotton pad. Keep moist and protected with a petroleum based product for at least 7 to 10 days.
Will be sore and swollen for the first 24-48 hrs. As it is the most sensitive procedure. The healing time will take from7-10 days in which time it is vital that the after care is followed .The lips will feel dry and may scab over. Avoid make up and products for 7-10 days.
It is important to keep the area protected and moist for the 7-10 days, it has been said that one should be `married to their lip balm. Applying liberally to the whole area frequently. I found adding extra before eating helped protect the area from food particles which were easily wiped off with water moist cotton pad together with the extra balm. Pat dry and re-apply fresh balm. Clients whom suffer from cold sores (herpes labialis) are advised to take zovirax tablets 5 days prior to treatment and 5 days after, as treatment can cause an outbreak.
For the life of your cosmetic art we recommend most defiantly using a good SPF lip balm when not wearing lipsticks.
Important information to consider
Giving blood: the Red Cross have suggested that you do not give blood for 6 months after treatment.
MRI Scans: this procedure shows as an artifact on the scan. Some clients may experience a tingling sensation. Please notify your radiologist of your treatment.
Injectables: Derma fillers can alter the shape of brows and lips
Laser hair removal: this can change the colour of your pigment particularly around the lip area. It is important to advise your LHR consultant that you have had micropigmentation. The colour change after laser cannot be rectified with further treatment.
Should you have any queries, or feel your treatment is not healing as expected, please get in contact with me. Do not panic if the area becomes red or swollen, or that the colour initially looks dark & intense- this is normal and the colour will fade during the healing process.
